DTF Troubleshooting

  • My transfer isn’t sticking — what’s wrong?
Check your temperature, pressure, and press time. If the press isn’t hot enough or the pressure is too light, the adhesive won’t bond properly. Use a heat gun or temperature strip to verify your press is accurate.

  • The edges are lifting after pressing.
Give it a second press using a parchment or kraft paper cover sheet for 5 seconds. This reactivates the adhesive and seals the edges.

  • The film doesn’t peel cleanly.
Apply firm, even pressure during your press. If parts of the design lift with the film, let it cool slightly and try a cold peel, or increase your pressure next time.

  • Can I use a home iron or Cricut EasyPress?
Technically yes — but not recommended. These tools don’t maintain consistent heat or pressure. For clean, professional results, always use a heat press.

  • When can I wash the garment?
Wait 24 hours before washing or stretching. This allows the adhesive to fully cure, ensuring maximum durability.
